Answers to Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
- What should I do if, when checking my son’s status online, I notice that he has been marked absent from a particular class? The Student Affairs Office requests that parents be patient if they see that a student has been marked absent (in real time) by a teacher. This may occur because the student is late to class, in the restroom, receiving medication from the school nurse, etc. The attendance secretary, Mrs. Mickey Engelbrecht, needs time each period to change the student’s status from absent to present. There is no need for a parent to call the Student Affairs Office each time they notice a student is absent for a single class. Our office verifies every absence and will contact parents if there is a concern. Receiving calls from individual parents asking why a student has been marked absent from a class slows the process. We appreciate your vigilance and ask for your patience.

Should I save my PowerSchool password when my browser asks? Please note: PowerSchool passwords should not be saved by your browser. You will need to type your password into the password field each time you wish to login. Please don't allow your internet browser to save your password. PowerSchool has a security feature that does not allow you to recall passwords saved by browsers.
If your browser has already saved your password, your recalled password will not be correct. You can solve this one of two ways: highlight and type over the "saved" password or you can find instructions to delete previously saved passwords here. Note: This will delete any previously saved passwords for other web sites as well.
- How can I find upcoming and graded assignments? Assignments can be found by clicking on the student's numerical grade on the Grade Summary page. Both graded and future assignments will be displayed.
- The PowerSchool calendar function isn't working. How can I fix this? The calendar function in the parent portal is currently not supported unless you have a Mac computer.
- My son's grade is shown as zero, is this correct? In classes where no assignments have been graded, the grade on the summary screen displays "0" until grades are recorded.
- How do I access my son’s lunch account balance in PowerSchool? From the PowerSchool homepage, click on the down arrow under “Trinity Links” on the upper left side of the page. You will see a line item for “Lunch Balances.” Click on that line and a page will appear with your son’s balance. Please note the time and date of the last update. This will let you know how current the balance is. Balances are updated at approximately 7:00 a.m. each day.
- When is athletic eligibility determined? Athletic eligibility is determined by the student's grade at 2 p.m. on Monday. If the student is ineligible at 2 p.m. on Monday, he will not have an opportunity to regain eligibility until the next review on the following Monday.
- The email account from the summer mailing isn't working. In the letter mailed to you this summer, we described email accounts that were established for each student. These accounts have been discontinued.
