Now that Thanksgiving has passed, we are officially in the Christmas shopping season. We are also in the Giving Tree season. This year, we are once again partnering with the Community Catholic Center to provide Christmas gifts for 120 children in the Portland neighborhood. We are asking individuals, advising groups, clubs, and teams to sign up to provide a $10-$15 wrapped gift. We are also collecting $25 Kroger and fast food gift cards. After TTV today, students will be around to each advising group with a sign up sheet. Mr. Luken will then send you the necessary details.
There are 2 upcoming service opportunities associated with the Giving Tree. Friday, December 15 for sorting, wrapping, and delivering the gifts and Sunday, December 17 for a Christmas Party at Community Catholic. For more information and a permission form, please see Mr. Luken in T215.

Your Quick Recall Rocks have had a momentous week. The Varsity team of Luke McFarland, Henry Mullins, Sammy Mattingly, and Derek Cornwell placed in the top 3 of the ClassAct NAQT tournament. This accomplishment qualified the team for Nationals on Memorial Day weekend. Additionally, McFarland, Mullins, and Mattingly placed 7th and 10th and 20th, respectively, in individual scoring out of roughly 80 competitors. Last week the team travelled to Poplar Level Road to take on St. X. The JV team could not match the Tiger’s speed and lost 18-30, falling to 6-3. However, the Varsity team dominated. Leading 14-9 at half on the confident play of Sophomore, Nick Huls, the team controlled the second half and won going away at 29-14. With one match remaining, the Varsity squad is poised to finish the regular season undefeated.
