EDChoice KY

Friends,

It’s been an exciting month for EdChoice KY as we continue educating people around the state on the benefits of scholarship tax credits! We appreciate many of you who have recently engaged with our content on social media. Thanks to your efforts to involve friends and family, the EdChoice KY social media presence gained more than 150 new followers in the month of October.

First and foremost, congratulations to Kentucky Senator Max Wise, a Scholarship Tax Credit supporter, on being named Chairman of the Senate Committee on Education. We look forward to working with him and the entire 2018 General Assembly to make Scholarship Tax Credits a reality for Kentucky.

Since we last wrote, EdChoice KY has launched two new video testimonials featuring parents from Somerset Christian School in the heart of Kentucky. One testimonial features Jessica <https://www.votervoice.net/BroadcastLinks/KTZOEqU-tvvyayDf7yVlkw> , a single mother, who relies on scholarships to send her four children to Somerset Christian School.

Our second testimonial comes from the Stein family <https://www.votervoice.net/BroadcastLinks/sVFGVbJImgjtoAUbQQqLog> . They depend on scholarships for their three grade school children still attending Somerset Christian, and depended on them for their two older children who have already graduated. We encourage you to continue to share these stories, and if you have not already, like our Facebook page <https://www.votervoice.net/BroadcastLinks/xrQMokt2NDzj3RBVdpzZiA>  to get immediate updates when we post.

For those who haven’t heard, there is an exciting school-choice related contest getting underway. EdChoice KY’s ally “Choice in Education” is hosting a video contest for the best school choice testimonial. If you want to learn more, or submit your entry, please visit http://www.choicesined.org/. The winning video will earn $15,000!  There will be additional prizes for runners-up.

While January seems like a long way off, it will be here soon! Make sure to mark January 25th on your calendars, and start making plans to attend the second annual KY School Choice Week Rally at the Capitol in Frankfort. For our friends in Western Kentucky, be sure to mark January 23rd on your calendars. EdChoice KY will be hosting an additional School Choice Rally in Madisonville as well! Please feel free to contact us with questions on how to get your school or family involved.

Free transportation is being offered to these events for schools and large groups on a first-come, first-served basis.  Contact Jordan Shellhaas at Jordan@runswitchpr.com <mailto:Jordan@runswitchpr.com>  if you are interested in reserving a bus for your organization.

The success of EdChoice KY depends on the energy and engagement of our allies and I want to say thank you for all you do! Please continue to share our content and invite your friends to join the cause. As always, we appreciate your continued support!

Sincerely,

Charles Leis
President, EdChoice KY
