On Wednesday at Seneca Golf Course, the Golf Rocks earned region runners-up honors and qualified for the KHSAA state golf tournament for the second time in the last three years. The state tournament will be played October 7-8 in Bowling Green. In addition to the team finish, Trinity freshman Hudson Hummel finished in a tie for overall individual region tourney low score after shooting a 71 in tournament play before bowing out after four playoff holes.
The Trinity golfers who qualified for state on Wednesday are: senior, Mike Blair; senior, Kyle Davis; sophomore, Evan Bone; freshman, JM Butler; and freshman, Hudson Hummel. The remainder of the 2016 Golf Rocks are Jackson Benningfield, Jacob Connors, Riley Davidson, Drex Gillaspie, Ballard Harris, Lee Hurst, Brandon Jent, Landon Lenhart, Clay Lewis, Grant Meyer, Davis Money, Frankie Morgan, Mac Morgan, Casey Murphy, Davis Oyler, Carter Ramsay, Brion Tinsley and Dominic Vogt.
