Academic News

Seniors, your yellow, blue, and green sheets were due yesterday. Please put them in the boxes on the counter in Academic Services. This is important for Awards Day and graduation information.

All students selected for the Governor’s Scholars Program, the Governor’s School for the Arts, and the Governor’s School for Entrepreneurs are reminded to meet in the rotunda following TTV today for a group photo.

For those still needing those last few service hours, you are in luck. Harbor House of Louisville is hosting their Ken-Ducky Derby at Waterfront Park this Saturday and is need of volunteers. The main time frame help is needed is 6:30-8:30 in the evening. For more information and a link to the Signup Genius, see the signs outside Campus Ministry.

Do you like classic rock-n-roll? Are you a fan of the Rolling Stones, Nirvana, Tom Petty, Bill Withers, and CCR?  If so, you’ll want to attend THS’s music concert this Sunday evening, April 30. This concert will feature a program of all-classic rock music. Come hear your Trinity brothers perform songs such as “Bad Moon Rising,” “Sweet Home Alabama,” “Free Fallin’,” and “Smells Like Teen Spirit”. Again, that’s Sunday, April 30, in the theater at 7 p.m. Admission is free. See you there!

Attention all students taking Advanced Placement exams: On Monday, students taking the Chemistry, Environmental Science AP exams are to report to the library at 7:45 for your exam. On Monday, students taking the Psychology AP exam are to report to the library at 12:15. All students are reminded that they should bring two #2 pencils and 2 black or dark blue ink pens. Electronic devices, including phones, should be left in student lockers. Food or drink are not allowed in the testing rooms. Please remember that late students will not be admitted to testing rooms after exam packets are unsealed, about 5 minutes into the testing session, so be on time! If you have any questions or concerns, contact Mr. Ward prior to your exam time in T125.

Anyone needing a few service hours should see Ms. Durbin in T316. She needs a few students to serve soft drinks during a party in Convocation Hall on Saturday, May 13 from 6 to 10 p.m.

If anyone needs service hours, please see Ms. Clay in F232. You can benefit Big Brothers/Big Sisters by volunteering to give out water at the KY Derby Marathon this Saturday at Iroquois Park.

Activity News

The Inner Peace Club will have a meeting today during Advising in the chapel. Anyone interested is invited to join. Slips for returning to Advising will be provided. All you need to bring are some good vibes.

Best Buddies and Film Club – if you are interested in attending next week’s opening of Guardians of the Galaxy 2 for free, stop by Mr. Seng’s room today after school. He will be placing ticket orders and needs to know numbers. If you don’t attend the meeting, you don’t go! Again, this offer is open to members of both Best Buddies and Film Club.

Tim’s Flying Club will meet after school today from 3 to 4 p.m. in Mr. CM’s room, F134.

The Culinary Club will be traveling to Jungle Jim’s International Market in Cincinnati on Sunday, April 30. See Dr. Heaverin on the third floor of Sheehan Hall for a permission form if you would like to go along on this trip. Also, the Culinary Club will meet this afternoon to cook another great meal. Make plans to stay. See you in the kitchen!

Current NHS juniors, don’t forget voting for next year’s officers ends Friday. See Mrs. deGolian with questions.

Current sophomores and juniors not in NHS, applications for membership are due Monday. Get an application from Mrs. deGolian in the library, and see her with questions.

Dunk Club members: If you ordered a t-shirt from Ms. Flipper, please see her to pay for it as soon as possible. Payment should be made by Wednesday, May 3. Cost is $13 cash or check made out to Trinity Campus Store. Also, there will be one final Dunk Club trip to Skyzone on Friday, May 12. See Ms. Flipper for details.

The Book Club will have its last meeting of the year on Tuesday, May 9 in the library. For more information, see Mr. Schum in F245.

Attention all sophomores and juniors who are not currently members of the BETA Club: Applications to become a BETA Club member for the 2017-18 school year are now available. Candidates must have and maintain at GPA of 3.0. Candidates are also selected based on leadership qualities, roles of service, and good character. If you are interested, in becoming a member, please pick up an application from Ms. Darby in S352 or Mr. Becker in F234. Applications must be completed and returned on or before Friday, May 12. If you have any questions, see Ms. Darby or Mr. Becker. Present BETA Club members do not need to reapply for next school year. If you are a member in good standing, your membership will extend through your senior year.

The Junior Formal for the Class of 2018 will be held on Saturday, May 13 from 9-midnight in the South Wing of the Kentucky Exposition Center. Tickets are $40 per couple and can be purchased during lunches on Green days or in Mr. Manning’s office T112 before or after school any day.

Sports News

Any tennis player who ordered team and individual pictures can pick those up in the Athletic Office.

The 10th annual Pink & White football game between Assumption and Sacred Heart Academy will be held this Friday at 7:30 pm at St. X High School. The gates will open at 6:30 pm.  The Trinity Pink – White Dance team will perform at halftime. All game proceeds will be donated to the Norton Cancer Institute Breast Health Program. No tickets will be sold at the St. X gate on Friday. All tickets are presale only and can be purchased through Thursday this week at the Trinity Athletics Office; before school, during lunch or after school. In addition, you may also purchase a Pink-White t-shirt at the Trinity Athletics Office. Game tickets are $5. T-shirts are $10.

Members of the Pink/White game dance team can wear their Pink/White game shirt to school this Friday with regular dress code pants and shoes. Likewise, any student who purchases a Pink/White game shirt from the Athletics Office can also wear the shirt to school this Friday. Get your shirt now before they sell out.
