The Swim & Dive Team completed an outstanding season with a second-place finish at the KHSAA State Final Meet on February 23.  The squad was led by junior Sawyer Tapp, who was the runner-up in the 100-yard backstroke, bettering his own school record (:49.14) in the process. Fellow juniors Meyer Hitch, Mateo Rodriguez-Agusti, Alec Kammeyer, and Joey Geddie all scored for the Rocks, along with freshmen Hampton Stuecker and Will Rose.  Tapp was also named first-team all-state.

Three weeks prior on February 4, the Rocks dominated the regional meet en route to a first-place finish, placing six swimmers on the All-Region team (Tapp, Hitch, Kammeyer, Rodriguez-Agusti, Rose, and Stuecker).  Tapp was also named the Most Outstanding Competitor in Region 5.  Other top scorers at the regional meet were Joey Geddie, Gabe Brown, Max Buchanan, Aiden Clark, and Alex Roy.

Congratulations to Coach Mike Essig ’85, team moderator Wayne Kraus ’85, and all of the student-athletes and their families on a most successful 2023-2024 season. Go SwimRocks!
