A Time Line of Upcoming Senior Events

Memo for Seniors and Senior Parents,

Here’s a checklist of items for planning as we head into spring:

April 1: Deadline for senior parents to notify Student Affairs about seniors returning four days per week after spring break.

April 9: Deadline for senior parents to notify Academic Services if they and their senior will not attend graduation. At this time, we need to know if they desire a private diploma conferred by Dr. Mullen or to have their diploma mailed.

April 12: All seniors who notified Student Affairs and who did not travel out of state for spring break can return four days per week.

April 19: Quarantine ended, all seniors who notified Student Affairs and who did travel during spring break may return.

April 23: Deadline for tux measurement at Sam Meyers (for prom and graduation / see below).

Saturday, May 8: Senior Prom. Following health department guidelines, Senior Prom this year will be a socially distanced dinner with no dancing. Shammy Award winners will be announced. This is subject to change if guidelines evolve or change. More details to follow.

Week of May 10: Graduation tickets mailed. Note: If our local health department adopts the 3-foot distance guideline for large gatherings, we will mail 6 tickets per family.

Awards Day: On Wednesday, May 19 at 9 a.m.  Trinity will host an Awards Day for seniors in Steinhauser Gymnasium. Seniors should report by 9 a.m. and will be socially distanced in the gym. No guests are allowed, but we will stream the event. Come see who wins recognition for their work in the classroom and where your Trinity brothers are going to college. Dr. Zoeller will also give brief instructions for graduation. These will also be emailed to all after Awards Day.

Weekend of May 21-23: Graduation at Marshall Stadium (weather dependent):  date and time announced Wednesday, May 19.

Also Possibly in May: Senior parade through campus. If a date can be coordinated, more information on this event will follow.

Sam Meyers Tuxedo Measurement and Rental:

Seniors will wear the traditional white summer tux for graduation.  These are available from Sam Meyers at the Mall St. Matthews.  Seniors MUST be measured at least two weeks in advance and should identify themselves as Trinity students.  Seniors who also rent a prom tux from Sam Meyers will get a significant discount on their graduation tux rental. Seniors who rent their prom tux from Sam Meyers will get their graduation tux for $35 without shoes and $50 with shoes.

If they do not rent a prom tux from Sam Meyers, the cost to rent the graduation tux will be $85 without shoes and $110 with shoes.  There is an additional $10 damage fee and Kentucky tax on all graduation tux rentals.

It is important that all seniors make their way to Sam Meyers as soon as possible to be measured for their graduation tux!
