Another Argentine update from THS traveler Pedro Schmitt:
Good morning Mr. Zoeller, now that there is less than one week left for us on this trip, I have to say I tremendously enjoyed it and was definitely one of the best experiences of my life. Before going to Argentina I was given tips from many friends and family, for example, to bring an adapter for chargers, etc. I don’t think there is anything I am missing; my host parents have everything I need, and I am not missing anything.
I feel that my Spanish in general has improved a lot. I have been able to have normal talks with the host family, like anything they would talk about in a normal day. For example, a topic recently discussed was abortion, because of the election that occurred not long ago.
I have been trying to talk in Spanish an much as I can; when I don’t know a word I point to the thing or just say that one word in English, then ask the person what that word is in Spanish. I was able to actually understand the economy class, give my input on what I thought and an example of the situation in the USA. Depending on the teacher, it is easy to understand, but there are some people that just talk too fast for me to understand!
