On Sunday, March 10 in Lexington’s Rupp Arena, the preseason #2 Basketball Rocks defeated the preseason #1 Scott County Cardinals by a score of 50-40. The win enabled Trinity to capture the 2019 KHSAA Sweet 16 Boys Basketball State Championship. The Rocks finished the season as state champions with a record of 29-8. Trinity also captured the LIT Championship and the 7th Region Championship during this incredible season.

This state championship is the second in the Szabo era of Trinity Basketball (first in 2012). The trip to Rupp Arena marks the sixth time during Coach Szabo’s tenure that Trinity teams have captured the 7th Region crown and advanced to the KHSAA Sweet 16.

Thanks to the Trinity student section and all of Rock Nation for your support this season, and especially this past week in Lexington. Our fans were Loud and Proud!
