Attention E661 students interested in traveling to Waverly Hills for our urban legend and folklore investigation:

If you are interested in participating in the Waverly trip, our student interest meeting is coming up.

When: Monday, December 6 at 3pm

Where: Ms. Darby’s room S-352

We will be voting on our trip date. Be sure you are in attendance, so your voice is heard.

Attention all students, faculty and those interested in doing some great service work for the holidays: The Green Cross will be leading another group of Trinity folks down to Wayside Christian Mission to set up their annual Christmas Store on Tuesday, December 14 from 1-4 PM after exams.  We are looking for as many people as possible to join us so the job gets done in one afternoon.  Please see or contact Mr. Budniak if you have questions or need further details! 

CAFETERIA SCHEDULE FOR EXAM WEEK:

Cafeteria will open on EXAM DAYS at 7 am

Breakfast will be available from FLIK

Cafeteria will close on EXAM DAYS at 1 pm

FLIK will sell snacks after exams, but lunch will not be available

The cafeteria will NOT be open on Wednesday’s Study Day

EXAM EXEMPTION:

There is no exam for Enrichment classes such as Freshman Success, ACT or Senior Capstone

Seniors who have a 90 or better for BOTH quarter 1 and quarter 2 are exempt

from taking the exam for that class.

ONLY seniors are offered this exam exemption privilege.

MONDAY, DEC. 13:     First Period GREEN Exam 9–10:15 a.m.

Second Period GREEN Exam 10:25 – 11:40 a.m.

Students should make arrangements to leave campus for the day following exams.

TUESDAY, DEC. 14:    First Period WHITE Exam 9–10:15 a.m.

Second Period WHITE Exam 10:25 – 11:40

Cafeteria is open in the mornings at 7, closed at 1:00 pm

WEDNESDAY, DEC. 15:           STUDY DAY for students

Attendance is optional/Dress Down Day

Teachers will be available 9:00-11:30

Library and Computer Labs will be open

All students must leave campus at 11:30

This is a great opportunity to get a head start on preparing for your next round of exams, to form study groups, to make-up absent work

House News:

The House table tennis tournament took place on Nov. 30 and Dec. 2 during Advising in Convocation Hall. Each House had four members participating in the contest. On day one of the tournament, Aquinas, Becket, Dante, Flannan, and Gonzaga Houses faced off against one another. Dante House’s Ben Rueff won the upper half of the bracket by defeating Flannan House’s Matthew Money. On day two of the tournament Merton, Patrick, Romero, Seton, and Toussaint Houses competed. Merton House’s Dane Boggess defeated Patrick House’s Matthew Chou to win the bottom half of the bracket and advance to the championship. Boggess was victorious over Rueff in the championship round. In the third-place consolation game, Money defeated Chou. Special thanks to Mr. Joseph Chittissery Mathai for his assistance in organizing and facilitating the tournament.

Congratulations to Merton House on winning the Video Game Tournament.​ Merton’s Gregg Dunn defeated Seton House’s Devin Williams 24-21 in the championship game. ​Dunn defeated Becket House’s Bryant Beane in the lower bracket and finished Second in the tournament. Beane finished Third.​ Merton House earned 20 points, Seton received 15 points, and Becket House earned 10 points. All the other houses received 5 participation points. ​

To help spread some holiday cheer the house system is sponsoring a door decorating contest. The goal is to have each Advising group to decorate the outside of its classroom door in a holiday theme. Preliminary judging will take place TOMORROW to determine the best decorated door from each house.  Final judging will take place on Monday and Tuesday to determine the best overall decorated door. Five bonus points will be given to those houses that have all 6 Advising groups participate in the contest. Three bonus points to those Houses have at least 3 Advising groups participate in the contest.

Activities:

NEW CLUB – The Anime Club will hold it’s first ever meeting on WEDNESDAY from 3:00-3:30 in room F133. Interested students can join Mrs. Waggoner in the newest club on campus – bring your suggestions for Anime viewing, Manga reading and more.

Book Club will meet on TUESDAY after school in the library.  Please make plans to attend.  For more information, see Mr. Schum is F245.

The Inner Peace Club will meet during Advising on MONDAY.  Students should make an e-hall pass and come to the Chapel to attend.  For more information, contact Mr. Schum in F245.

Any student interested in the St. Joseph of Arimathea Society should email or see Mrs. deGolian in the library.  Students in this important ministry serve at burials for homeless and indigent members of the Louisville community on alternating Thursdays.  We are in need of more students willing to serve.  You do not attend every burial.  Contact Mrs. deGolian or Mr. Domzalski with questions.

Attention French students, French Scrabble Team meets after school on Mondays and Wednesdays in Mr. Wilson’s room F237.  Snacks provided!

The Trinity Robotics Club meets every Monday after school in the Trinity Hall Technology Center.  New members are always welcome!

We will be saying the Rosary at 2:30 p.m. every Friday. We will say the rosary by the Mary Statue, weather permitting. We will provide the rosaries. Do not worry if you do not know how to pray the rosary, we will be glad to show you. Every other Tuesday we will say the rosary during advising. Students are encouraged to attend. Make an e-hall pass and meet at the Mary statue weather permitting. We will start the prayer at 8:15 and should be done by 8:45. All who are able is welcome to attend.

Do you know that most stuff around us deals with electronics? Do you like to gain more insight into this subject, then sign up with Mr. CM by signing up with Remind. To sign up, text the message    @THSEL2122     to the number 81010. This club involves hands on activities like soldering, desoldering components, assembling small circuits for various applications and in the process learn some of the basics of electricity and electronics. The club will meet on the 2nd and 4th THURSDAYS of every month, from 3 to 4 pm, in Room F332.
