Attention young scientists! Have you ever wanted to explore the depths of a rainforest, swim in volcanic waters, or zip line through the trees of a cloud forest? Now is your chance. Trinity will be taking a 10-day science research trip to Costa Rica this summer. We will study leaf cutter ants, frogs, and butterflies in the jungle and look for sea turtles on the coast. Students will have an opportunity to work with college professors while they travel through Costa Rica’s diverse landscape. Don’t pass up an opportunity to learn, eat, and play in one of them most beautiful places in the world. If you are interested, please see Mr. Heintz in room F135. Get your parents to attend the parent information meeting Tuesday, September 18 at 6 p.m. to discuss the trip accommodations, science content, and much more.

The Congressional App Challenge is designed to engage student creativity and encourage their participation in STEM education fields – that’s Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. This nationwide event allows high school students from across the country to compete against their peers by creating and exhibiting their software application, or “app,” for mobile, tablet, or computer devices on a platform of their choice.  If you know how to code and have an idea for a game or want to create an app to solve a problem or make a task easier – you should enter this challenge!  You can work alone, or with a team of up to 4 students. You can register now and submit your app later….  Apps are due by October 15.  See Mrs. Mason in the Technology Center for more information or visit www.congressionalappchallnge.us/
