Multifaith Blood Drive

As part of the Festival of Faiths, the Center for Interfaith Relations, American Red Cross, and the Muhammad Ali Center are sponsoring a blood drive on Friday, November 11 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Muhammad Ali Center (144 N. Sixth Street, Louisville, 40202). To schedule an appointment, please visit RedCrossBlood.org and enter sponsor code FOF or call 1-800-RED-CROSS.  There is no replacement for human blood donation. Patients suffering trauma, injury and illness need us. In Kentucky, you must be 17 to donate blood or 16 with parental consent.

TODAY, there will be an all-school mass for All Saints Day, followed by classes on an Assembly B schedule. Students will report to Advising and, after attendance is taken, will be dismissed to the gym and sit with advising in assigned locations. Seniors will sit in chairs on the floor of the gym. Dr. Zoeller will dismiss us back to classes after mass. The Solemnity of All Saints is a holy day of obligation in the Catholic Church dedicated to all the holy men and women who have been canonized as saints by the Church.

Given the opportunity, would you step up to help save someone’s life?  (pause) I knew you would!  And that opportunity will be here on Thursday, November 17 when Trinity High School will sponsor its annual fall Red Cross Blood Drive.  Students, faculty, staff, parents and alumni are encouraged to “Give the Gift of Life.”  Think of how good it will feel, right before the holiday season, to help a kid with cancer, to help someone involved in an accident, to help someone who needs a transfusion. You can make a reservation now to donate on the Red Cross Website – just scan the QR code on the posters you see in the hallways or in the advising notes PowerPoint (thanks to Mr. Klein) or you can see Mrs. Mason in the Technology Center or Mrs. Hall in T311 any day during advising or after school.  You must be at least 16 years of age to donate. If you are 16, you will need your parents’ permission – there is a special form you need to complete.  Please register online and then see Mrs. Mason or Mrs. Hall for the form. If you are 17 or older, you do not need parental permission – but it would be nice if you told your parents your plan to donate. Only about 5% of the general public donates blood – let’s blow that statistic away!  Remember, your pint of blood could save up to 3 lives.  Sign up today!!

Kentucky Driving School will be on campus the week of November 7-11, Monday-Thursday 3-5 p.m. and Friday 2-4 p.m. It will be held in the classrooms in SteinhauserGym.

YOU MUST HAVE A PERMIT IN ORDER TO TAKE THE CLASS!!!!!!!

Call KY Driving School at 456-5266 to sign up and pay for the classes.

Option 1: Students will participate in 10 hours of classroom instruction. Also included will be 4 hours behind the wheel, 2-2 hour private sessions with pick up and drop off at Trinity. (Note: The driving lessons are scheduled throughout the session, depending on whether or not the student already has his/her permit.) Option 2: Student will participate in 10 hours of classroom instruction. (No road instruction is included with this option) You will need to check with your insurance company to see if this course meets their requirements for an auto insurance reduction.
