Daily Announcements for Tuesday, October 12, 2021

The Trinity Freshman Dance will take place on Saturday, November 6 from 8-11 PM. The dance will take place outside Shamrock Hall under a heated tent and will feature a DJ, a photo booth, light refreshments, and festival games. Attire is semi-formal (Freshmen should wear a sports coat, dress shirt, tie, khakis, and dress shoes). Tickets for the dance are $25 per couple and will be on sale in the Academic Services Office during first lunch and after school from Monday, October 18 to Friday, November 5. 

Attention Beta and NHS guys, if you need service hours come sign up to usher the fall play! Come to academic services or email Mrs. Durbin at durbin@trinityrocks.com with your date.

There will be an informational meeting on Friday, Oct. 22 at 2 pm for roughly 30 minutes.

You will need to come 1 hour before show time. You should earn around 3 service hours. Space is limited, so you may only choose up to 2 performance dates.

Junior Retreat Days: You will go in alphabetical order, so check the rosters posted on the cafeteria flatscreens, outside of Campus Ministry offices, and in your theology classrooms. Remind your parents to complete the permission slip, found in PowerSchool through the Parent sign-in Portal. On your retreat day: You won’t go to Advising – you go directly to the cafeteria. You’ll be outside all day, so dress in jeans, tennis shoes or boots, a Trinity shirt, and hoodie or jacket depending on the weather. Lunch is NOT included so bring a bagged lunch. Check your school email the day before your retreat for all the details.

All other juniors will go on retreat next semester.

If you are absent on your assigned day, you will be rescheduled to attend on May 3.

Kentucky Driving School will be on campus the week of October 25-29, Monday-Thursday 3-5 p.m., Fri. 2-4 p.m. Call KY Driving School at 456-5266 to sign up and pay for the classes. You must have a permit to enroll in class.

  • Option 1: Students will participate in 10 hours of classroom instruction. Also included will be 4 hours behind the wheel, 2-2 hour private sessions with pick up and drop off at Trinity. (Note: The driving lessons are scheduled throughout the session, depending on whether or not the student already has his/her permit.) This course normally meets the requirements made by insurance companies for an auto insurance reduction. Fee: $325.00

  • Option 2: Student will participate in 10 hours of classroom instruction. (No road instruction is included with this option) You will need to check with your insurance company to see if this course meets requirements for an auto insurance reduction. Fee:$50

Vaping or possession of vaping paraphernalia is a violation of Trinity’s Alcohol and Drug Policy in the Code of Conduct. Consequences include suspension, demerits and/or dismissal.

Attention all skiers and snowboarders: DO NOT PURCHASE YOUR PERFECT NORTH PASS YET!!  There is a resurrected potential of the bus trips running each Friday in January and February and this may affect which pass you want to get!  Wait for the word next week about the buses!! See Mr. Budniak if you have questions….

The next meeting for Culinary Club is scheduled for Tuesday, November 16.  Plan on the meeting lasting approximately two hours. We look forward to cooking with you and sharing a meal!

Two tables of Uno action on Wednesday produced six overall winners for the day. Leading the way were Jack Poehner and Sam Hannigan. The King of Uno, Dr. Zoeller, returned to his winning ways with a clutch win too. More Uno competition after the fall break.

The winner will receive a gift card to the place of their choice.”

Mu Alpha Theta, Math Honor Society meeting will be held on Wednesday, October 20 after school in T312.  Stop by for some math fun!

Archery signups close Friday, October 22! Go outside Mr. Rapp’s room F141 to sign up! No experience necessary.

Video game club members – For reasons beyond Mr. Sobczyk’s control, video game club’s next meetings will be Friday, 10/22 and Friday, 10/29 to make up for the missed meeting.

Any student interested in the St. Joseph of Arimathea Society should email or see Mrs. deGolian in the library.  Students in this important ministry serve at burials for homeless and indigent members of the Louisville community on alternating Thursdays.  We are in need of more students willing to serve.  You do not attend every burial.  Contact Mrs. deGolian or Mr. Domzalski with questions.

Attention French students, French Scrabble Team meets after school on Mondays and Wednesdays in Mr. Wilson’s room F237.  Snacks provided!

The Trinity Robotics Club meets every Monday after school in the Trinity Hall Technology Center.  New members are always welcome!

We will be saying the Rosary at 2:30 p.m. every Friday. We will say the rosary by the Mary Statue, weather permitting. We will provide the rosaries. Do not worry if you do not know how to pray the rosary, we will be glad to show you. Every other Tuesday we will say the rosary during advising. Students are encouraged to attend. Make an e-hall pass and meet at the Mary statue weather permitting. We will start the prayer at 8:15 and should be done by 8:45. All who are able is welcome to attend.

The drumline is looking for new members. We practice every THURSDAY after school in convocation hall. No experience necessary. Any information please contact Mr. Mata in room F240 or email him at mata@trinityrocks.com

Do you know that most stuff around us deals with electronics? Do you like to gain more insight into this subject, then sign up with Mr. CM by signing up with Remind. This club involves hands on activities like soldering, desoldering components, assembling small circuits for various applications and in the process learn some of the basics of electricity and electronics. The club will meet on the 2nd and 4th THURSDAYS of every month, from 3 to 4 pm, in Room F332.


Basketball Tryouts for students Not playing a fall sport are Monday 10/18 and Tuesday 10/19 from 3 – 4:15 pm.

Winter Sports open their seasons officially on October 15.
