Connor Ferguson was one of only 30 selected across the country to fulfill the position of being a United States Senate Page this summer in Washington D.C. and was picked by Senator Mitch McConnell for this honor. In addition to this, Connor was the only person in Kentucky to be selected, making acceptance to this program extremely rigorous. Connor will live on Capitol Hill for the entire month of July and will work in the Capitol building along side congress men and women, Senators, and the Vice President.

4th Day Retreat on Wednesday, April 24 at Mount St. Francis, 101 St. Anthony Drive, Mt. St. Francis, IN (Floyds Knobs area). This is an OPTIONAL event for seniors who have been on senior retreat. Seniors do not have class and don’t have to report to Trinity. Please arrive at the mount between 9-9:30am. The day will conclude by 12:30pm. Transportation and meals are not provided. The owners of the parking lot behind Waylon’s and Drake’s will begin charging for parking as of May 1, 2019. The cost will be $30 a month. Those parking there without a permit will be towed. To apply for a permit and pay the monthly cost please call 502-719-9711 and speak to Mandy before May 1.
SENIORS are required to get measured for their graduation tux at Sam Meyers in the St. Matthews Mall. Seniors who were fitted for their prom tuxes at that location will not need to get measured again.
Jarret’s Joy Cart gives toys to children in the cancer Ward of Norton Children’s Hospital downtown. Anyone who wants to donate toys to Jarrett’s Joy Cart just needs to drop off a toy in the bin in front of Mr. Luken’s office or in the Rotunda. Collection through tomorrow.

Juniors listen up! Are you creative? Can you write a really good short story that captures the imagination of the reader? Do you like earning money towards tuition for your senior year? If you answered yes to all these questions, excite the bored people. Now it’s time to do something about it. It’s time for the Jim Adams Scholarship Competition. Each year, one junior is awarded a substantial scholarship towards their senior year at Trinity for writing the most creative short story. That’s right; you could earn money for your writing, so you have that going for you, which is nice. If you are interested in entering the contest, you must pick up an information sheet from Coach Owens in room D224 before entering. The deadline for entering a story is April 26 at 2:30pm, but you must pick up an information sheet that needs to be signed before entering. Seniors remember that you will lose access to your Office 365 account once you graduate. If you have files in your OneDrive that you need to keep, please back them up somewhere else. If you have signed up for anything using your Trinity email account and plan on using it after graduation, be sure to update your contact information with a non-Trinity email address. All access to Office 365, including your OneDrive and email, will be disabled immediately following senior exams.

Are you interested in becoming a lawyer or learning more about law careers? The Louisville Bar Association’s 2019 Summer Law Institute (SLI) will be held Sunday, June 16 to Saturday, June 22 at the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law. This is a 7-day residential program for high school students interested in the law and the legal profession. The schedule will include panel discussions with attorneys and judges, mock trial sessions, and topics taught by attorneys and law school professors. Applications can be picked up at Academic Services.
House meetings will take place Monday and Tuesday. On these days, we will be on an Assembly A schedule. The Assembly A schedule moves Advising time to the beginning of the day from 8-8:55. House meetings will also take place during this time. On Monday the Houses of Aquinas, Becket, Dante, Flannan, and Gonzaga will have their meetings. On Tuesday the Houses of Merton, Patrick, Romero, Seton and Toussaint will have their meetings. Students will be able to dress casually on the day their House is meeting. Please refer to your student manual for rules concerning casual dress days. Seniors can wear t-shirts and sweatshirts of the colleges to which you have been accepted. Mr. Klein encourages underclassmen to wear this year’s version of your House t-shirt.
The 2019 Student Phonathon begins next week. Those that participate will receive: points for the House Cup, service hours, free t-shirt, pizza, snacks and sodas for working 5:30-8:30 p.m. in the cafeteria. Training and scripts provided.

The National Honor Society is accepting applications for new members. To be considered for membership to this service leadership organization you must be a current sophomore or junior with a 3.7 Cumulative GPA. Applications can be picked up from Mrs. deGolian in the library and turned in to her when complete. The deadline is Thursday, May 2.
