The Freshman Dance will take place on Saturday, October 6 from 9 p.m. to midnight in Shamrock Gym. Tickets for the Freshman Dance will go on sale next Monday during lunch in the Academic Service Office. Tickets are $20 per couple. Also, keep in mind that our friends on Poplar Level Road are having a dance that same night, so don’t delay finding a date and making plans for this special night!

All students receive a basic packet of pictures, but they must have an order form and check if parents wish to purchase additional pictures. Order forms are available from your Advisor. Students should look sharp and are required to wear a sports coat for their picture.
Attention young scientists! Have you ever wanted to explore the depths of a rainforest, swim in volcanic waters, or zip line through the trees of a cloud forest? Now is your chance. Trinity will be taking a 10-day science research trip to Costa Rica this summer. We will study leaf cutter ants, frogs, and butterflies in the jungle and look for sea turtles on the coast. Students will have an opportunity to work with college professors while they travel through Costa Rica’s diverse landscape. Don’t pass up an opportunity to learn, eat, and play in one of them most beautiful places in the world. If you are interested, please see Mr. Heintz in room F135. Get your parents to attend the parent information meeting Tuesday, September 18 at 6 p.m. to discuss the trip accommodations, science content, and much more.

The Congressional App Challenge is designed to engage student creativity and encourage their participation in STEM education fields – that’s Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. This nationwide event allows high school students from across the country to compete against their peers by creating and exhibiting their software application, or “app,” for mobile, tablet, or computer devices on a platform of their choice. If you know how to code and have an idea for a game or want to create an app to solve a problem or make a task easier – you should enter this challenge! You can work alone, or with a team of up to 4 students. You can register now and submit your app later…. Apps are due by October 15. The next House competition is the Egg Drop Competition. Participants will design and engineer a device that will prevent an egg from breaking when dropped from a given height. Participants will build their apparatus Thursday during Advising in F131. The competition will take place next Monday during Advising in the visitor’s stands of Marshall Stadium.
The final contest of the 1st Quarter will be the House dodge ball Tournament. The tournament will take place on Tuesday, Oct. 2 and Thursday, Oct. 4 during Advising in Shamrock Gym. Each house may have two 8-man teams. Let your Advisor or House Director know today if you’d like to participate in the tournament.

Trinity’s Robotics Club will have its first meeting on Monday, September 17 after school in the Technology Center on the ground floor of Old Trinity Hall. Come check us out! We have something for everyone. We have LEGO Mindstorms, we have VEX, and we have an indoor drone. You can come just for fun, or you can wear your game face and join our competition teams. We need designers, builders, and programmers. Think about it – mark your planner and join the Trinity Robotics Club next Monday.
Attention all food lovers…Culinary Club members work with FLIK Chefs to learn important food preparation techniques and to make some great meals at their meetings during the year. Members also provide tasty food for guests at Trinity’s Open House and they make a meal for Parents at the end of the year. The club will meet in the cafeteria after school tomorrow. The Woodworking Club will meet today in Mr. Hull’s room, C173. We will meet approximately every other Wednesday for the remainder of the semester. There are only 4 openings left for this club. Students, if you feel that a career in architecture, engineering or construction work may be in your future, then the ACE is just for you. What is ACE? ACE mentoring program provides students with an opportunity to collaborate and learn from professionals in the field of design and construction. Experts will share advice and valuable skills about what’s needed to be successful. You will also complete an actual project and have the chance to make good contacts and earn scholarship money at the end of the process. If you are interested in learning more about ACE, then please see Mr. CM in F134. Also, those students who were in the program last year need to reconfirm their interest by signing up again. The ACE club will meet every other Wednesday. The first class will start on Wednesday, October 3.
