Now that Thanksgiving has passed, we are officially in the Christmas shopping season.  We are also in the Giving Tree season.  This year, we are once again partnering with the Community Catholic Center to provide Christmas gifts for 120 children in the Portland neighborhood.  We are asking individuals, advising groups, clubs, and teams to sign up to provide a $10-$15 wrapped gift.  We are also collecting $25 Kroger and fast food gift cards. After TTV today, students will be around to each advising group with a sign up sheet. Mr. Luken will then send you the necessary details.  Also, if you are looking for service hours, we will be doing a Christmas Party on Sun, Dec. 17 from 12:00-2:00 playing games and passing out the gifts. See Mr. Luken in T215 to sign up.

In honor of the 100th anniversary of JFK’s birth, May 29, 1917, and the 54th anniversary of his death this week, November 22, 1963, the library will display our special collection of JFK memorabilia this week. These items were donated to the library a few years ago, and many of these items have historical significance, including Kennedy family signatures, campaign materials, and original newspaper articles from the day after his and RFK’s assassinations. We welcome any classes who would like to come for a few minutes to see what we have.  Let us know if you’re interested in bringing your class.
