The Louisville Bar Association’s 2018 Summer Law Institute (SLI): The SLI will be held at the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law the week of Sunday, June 10 to Saturday, June 16. This is a 7- day residential program for high school students interested in the law and the legal profession. As in prior years, we hope to have field trips to the federal courthouse, the Judicial Center, and Bellarmine University. The daily agenda will include panel discussions with attorneys and judges, mock trial sessions, and topics taught by attorneys and law school professors. The SLI is funded in part by the Louisville Bar Foundation which allows us to keep the cost to students at $200, including housing and meals. A limited number of scholarships are available. The application deadline is Wednesday, April 11 and applications should be mailed to the Louisville Bar Association or scanned and emailed to lhardwick@loubar.org. Applications are available online or in academic services.

Louis-Edward Nicklies Scholarship Fund. Students must be pursuing a career in Law, Engineering, Teaching, Medicine, or Ministry, and must enroll at an accredited institution in Jefferson County, KY. The deadline is March 23, 2018. See Mr. Manning or Ms. Stich for the application.

The National CCAA Scholarship is awarded to eight college-going high school seniors from various geographic regions attending one of our member institutions in Fall 2018. The National CCAA Scholarship is a one-time, $1,000 award. This year’s application is now live on their website. The application is brief and will take students a few minutes to complete. The deadline to apply is March 1 and award recipients will be selected in mid to late March. If you have any questions or need further information, please contact Mr. Manning or Ms. Stich.

Junior Retreats have started up again! Not sure when you go? Check the rosters posted outside Campus Ministry offices and in your theology classrooms. On your retreat day, report to the cafeteria instead of 1st block. You can dress down in jeans, a collared shirt or Trinity t-shirt, and sneakers. You’ll be off campus all day and lunch is included.

4th Day meetings on Thursdays during Advising for Seniors who have been on a senior retreat. The meetings begin at 2:15 and Campus Ministry will give you a pass to return to your Advising.

Seniors: Prom tickets on sale now during lunches. $60 per couple. Prom will be held at the Mellwood Arts Center on March 9 from 9 p.m.-Midnight.

Third Quarter Contests

House Intramural Basketball Championship TOMORROW at 8 a.m. in Steinhauser Gym and the 3-point Shooting Contest TOMORROW at 8 a.m. in Steinhauser Gym (Halftime of Intramural Championship)

Becket House will collect goods and money for the KY Humane Society during the first full week of March. Donation should be dropped off to Ms. Clay.


Attention Guitar Club members – we will meet today after school in the music room. Bring your guitars and any small amp you might need. You may drop off guitars in Mr. Daniel’s room D223 in the morning if you like. See you tomorrow.

The Ping Pong Club will meet tomorrow, in Convocation Hall, after school, from 3 to 4 p.m.

Attention all students not currently involved in a “spring” or “club” sport here at Trinity. On March 15th, in Convocation Hall at 3:15, there will be an “all-class” ping pong tournament. If you are interested, show up in Convocation Hall on that day no later then 3:10 p.m.

Attention ACE Rocks: The 10th ACE mentoring class will be held today in Mr. CM’s room F134, immediately after school. Attendance is mandatory.

The math league is entering it’s final stretch. After 3 meets Will Hodge leads all freshmen in district and Dylan Ernst is in striking distance for a medal. The sophomore bracket is all rocks all day! With Tristan Harbold followed by Jack McClellan, and Michael Chou taking 1st, 2ndand 3rd! Juniors Hanson Wei is second, only 2.25 points behind first, Christopher Elder despite missing a meet is half a point from 3rdand Tom Kalmer is 6th. Among Seniors David Gregory ranks first, Adorn Vrona 5th and despite missing the first meet, Nick Thevenin is 6th. Trinity is 1st in our district and 4th overall in our region. Keep it up Math Rocks!

The Book Club will meet on Tuesday, March 20 in the library after school. Refreshments will be served. For more information, see Mr. Schum in F245.

Attention all students –Intramural basketball is drawing to a close, and that means it is almost time for Intramural Volleyball! There will be a freshman-sophomore division and a junior-senior division. Any student NOT playing a spring sport, sanctioned or club, is eligible to play. Intramural volleyball is NOT run through the house system and there is NO CHARGE to play – that’s right – no money!! So, get all your friends together, choose a captain, and fill out a roster. Rosters are available at the front table in the cafeteria or see Mrs. Mason in the Trinity Hall Technology Center anytime. Games will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays between 3:15 and 5:00. So, if you can play volleyball after school on Mondays and Wednesdays, starting in early March, get your team together, pick up a roster, fill it out, and turn it in to Mrs. Mason in the Trinity Hall Technology Center. Rosters are due tomorrow. A mandatory captain’s meeting will be held on Monday, March 5th after school in the computer lab to discuss rules and schedules. Play will start Monday, March 12th and run thru the end of April. If you want to play intramural volleyball, but don’t know anyone else who is playing, or you can’t get a full team together, see Mrs. Mason, she’ll match you up with others like you or a team that could use another player.

Any senior interested in participating in this year’s Pink White Dance should plan to attend the interest meeting during Advising on Monday, March 5. You must sign up with Ms. Stich by Friday, March 2 to be called out of Advising.


Barbell Club practice will be Mondays at 5:15 and Tuesday and Thursday at 4:30. New members are welcome!
