After the recent completion of his sixth year as Trinity Head Golf Coach, Mike Brumfield H’13 has announced his retirement from high school coaching. Mike will focus his time on family, work and his ongoing aspirations to become a head coach at the collegiate level.

Since his arrival at Trinity prior to the 2013 golf season, Mike has achieved the following as the Shamrocks Head Coach:

-Team qualification for the KHSAA state championship almost every season, finishing as high as third multiple times;

-An individual state champion and Mr. Kentucky Golf in 2018 with Trinity junior JM Butler;

-A number of Shamrock golfers have moved on to play golf in college;

-An upgrade to the regular season playing schedule to include top tournaments around the state;

-The first of what is hoped to be an annual event in the Trinity Golf Invitational

-A strong coaching staff including Pat Barry, Alex Blair and James Chaney.

We thank Mike for his service to the Trinity Golf program, and to the entire Trinity community, and wish him the best going forward.
