The graduates of the Class of 2020 will be honored with a permanent reminder of their four years at Trinity. As students they excelled in numerous ways. They were enjoyable to have with us and made their theme TRINITY FOREVER, a reminder of what we all seek – a lasting relationship with this school.
Unlike the 63 graduating classes before them though, they will forever hold the distinction of being the first class to have the ending of their four years impacted by a world-wide pandemic. They saw great senior class privileges cancelled, including prom, senior field day, dress-up day, and all the memorable May graduation weekend activities. The spring musical was cut short, the art show and concerts cancelled, House activities stopped, and spring sports ended without a single contest. They missed out on being in class, kidding around at the lunch table, and just savoring the once-in-a-lifetime experience of the last weeks of being a senior in high school. Every Trinity alumnus knows what they lost.
To recognize their loss and to salute them for their resilience, The Trinity School Board approved dedicating our new College and Career Counseling Center, being constructed this summer, to the Class of 2020. A plaque will be installed at the entrance to the center. It is the first space inside any school building dedicated to a single graduating class.
