Given the COVID-19 pandemic and following recommendations from local government and health officials, we are making the difficult decision to cancel the on-campus CelebraTion dinner auction for this year. This event attracts a large segment of the population that is vulnerable to this virus. This is a very painful decision to make. It impacts hundreds of hours of preparation by our devoted and wonderful volunteers. It challenges the understanding and generosity of our corporate sponsors, donors and patrons. And, in particular, it puts at risk the financial support this event generates for the benefit of our students. We will keep open the online auction website until at least March 20. We will issue an opportunity next week for those who want to contribute to the financial aid appeal that takes place the night of the event. We hope that the Trinity community steps up and assists us in making this year’s event a success even in light of this unforeseen world health crisis.
