“The process for the Kentucky High School Speech League State Speech Tournament has taken about a month or so and has been pretty complicated between filming videos, uploading links, and lots of back and forth with all of our limited prep events. Essentially, I received a prompt, had to get it to the kids, kids prepped, kids filmed, kids uploaded videos and emailed them back to me, and I submitted them all in a tight time frame. Tonight we had our awards ceremony. Out of seven total entries, we advanced five to semi-finals (top 12 in the state).”Trinity Speech & Debate Head Coach Amy Zuccaro
Gus Boyer advanced in Broadcasting, Dramatic Interpretation, and Humorous Interpretation.
Walker Evans advanced in Extemporaneous Speaking and Impromptu Speaking.
Gus advanced Broadcasting to finals and placed 6th.
Walker advanced Extemp to finals and placed 3rd.
The team (including Charlie Thegreat) was recognized as a School of Distinction.
“It’s not the state tournament we wanted, but I am completely impressed with their dedication and work ethic. They were doing all of the filming and recording in addition to their classes. They met and still practiced (go, Teams) with me. I cannot say enough about how impressed I am with them.”Trinity Speech & Debate Head Coach Amy Zuccaro
