Trinity High School’s Counseling Department was recently presented with a $500 grant from New York Life and the Coalition to Support Grieving Students. Trinity will now have the designation as an official Grief Sensitive School.
Lucia Simpson, Chair of Trinity’s Counseling Department, said the grant will be put to good use. “We’re going to use this grant to fund and enhance our grief support and helping our students and families going through the grieving process”
Trinity is very proud of this designation. “To get the grant, Jason Jackson from New York Life, came in to go over the resources involved with the Grief Coalition Program with us. He also trained us on how to access those materials and use them to help families and our students. We are an official Grief Sensitive School because of this. We’re honored to be in a position to provide a level of comfort and support for our families going through the grieving process.”
