Trinity High School, a two-time KHSAA basketball state champion (2012, 2019) announces its 2021-2022 varsity basketball schedule.
As part of the regular season game schedule, the Basketball Rocks will take on several top 20 programs from within Kentucky: Bardstown, DeSales, Fern Creek, Male, Lexington Catholic, Lexington Dunbar, Madison Central, Montgomery County and rival St. Xavier.
The tournament schedule is strong and will see Trinity in action at the King of the Bluegrass, recognized as one of the top high school holiday tournaments in the country, the Lexington Catholic Holiday Tournament, another very competitive in-state event, and the Louisville Invitational Tournament (LIT), featuring the top programs within Metro Louisville.
Once the post season begins, Trinity will face competition in the 7th Region, as challenging a region as any in Kentucky, as the team competes for a regional crown and a trip to the KHSAA Sweet 16.
Director of Athletics Rob Saxton stated, “We look forward to taking on such an interesting and competitive schedule. Some of these teams and tournaments are very familiar to our coaches, players and fans. The level of difficulty is something we seek.”
Head Coach Mike Szabo said, “Our goals each year are to become the best team we can be and then to compete for a state championship. A schedule such as this will help prepare our young men for competition in the 7th Region, and hopefully a trip to Rupp Arena in March.”
