Trinity senior Tristan Harbold recently found out that he scored a perfect 36 on the ACT. “I was incredibly surprised! I thought I had done very well on the math, but the highest I had scored on the reading was a 30 or a 31, so I didn’t think I scored higher than a 32 (on the reading section) when I took it. When I found out that I had scored a 36, I was in shock!”
To put this accomplishment in perspective, less than one-half of 1% of all test takers earn the top score. Among US high school graduates in the class of 2019, just 4,879 out of nearly 1.8 million students who took the ACT earned a composite score of 36.
“I was actually on Senior Retreat the four days before I took it, so that week I didn’t prepare at all from an academic standpoint. The retreat did so much to help put my mind at ease, I felt relaxed and confident as I was taking it. The preparation from Trinity’s Advanced Program along with the sense of calm I felt after my retreat played a big part in the perfect score.”
Tristan was also recently recognized by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation, along with twelve of his senior classmates.
GreaT job, Tristan!
