Congratulations are in order for Trinity senior, Luke McArthur ’22, who was recently selected as a YMCA Youth Character Award winner!
Kenny Hoerter, who serves as the Vice President of Development and District Executive for the YMCA of Greater Louisville, said this about the prestigious recognition, “Each year we receive nominations for our Youth Character Awards. The Youth Character Awards is an opportunity to honor and recognize extraordinary youth in our community that exemplify the Y’s commitment to strengthening our community by incorporating the Y values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility in their lives. We had over 40 submissions and Luke was selected as one of eleven award winners. You should be very proud of how he has demonstrated the YMCA character values in their efforts at home, school, church, or their community.”
Luke was even more surprised to learn that his grandfather, Glenn Powell, nominated him for the award back in September! “I think this award is a perfect fit for Luke,” said Glenn. “Not only he is an excellent student, but I am so impressed with his efforts to serve the community.” In his recommendation for Luke, his grandfather described Luke’s commitment to academics at Trinity, as well as sharing details of Luke’s various services to the community, including his recent Eagle Scout project that benefitted the Home of the Innocents.
Each student will receive a $2500 scholarship for educational and leadership pursuits.
Please join us in congratulating Luke for his hard work and dedication!
