Taylor Ludwig, Class of 2022, completed his Eagle Scout Project this past week! Below are some details about his project and a link to the WDRB story.
Taylor Ludwig, A Life Scout part of Troop 175 sponsored by St. Edward Church is working on his Eagle Scout project and has built 3 new handicap accessible picnic tables for Veteran’s Park and Blackacre Conservancy.
Taylor has collected $650 in donations for supplies and materials to perform the work. Two area businesses, along with friends of the family donated the money, along with Lowe’s Home Improvement on Hurstbourne Parkway giving a generous discount to the supplies. Friends, family, and other scouts have donated over 60 hours in fabricating these tables.
Taylor came up with this idea as a resource for handicap individuals and/or families to have a place to dine together with the rest of their family on picnics. Most, if not all, picnic tables do not allow for people in wheelchairs to easily join the rest of their group at a picnic table. Taylor also had a passion for this project as he sees his grandparents struggle with their physical health and wants to provide a resource to people like them.
Taylor is a member of Scouts BSA Troop 175 at St. Edward.
