Academic News

Attention all seniors who have been on senior retreat. There will be a 4th Day Mass on Thursday morning in Trinity’s chapel at 7:20. Please try to attend and receive a blessing before going on spring break.

Attention student body. You are hereby advised to bring sun block to the cafeteria this coming Thursday.  Make sure that it’s at least 90 SPF. Why you ask? Because your face is gonna be melted off by Trinity’s own Jazz Band. That’s right – the THS Jazz Band will be rocking and rolling you this Thursday as you eat lunch in the cafeteria, and the amps will be cranked up to 11. Autographs will be signed afterward. No mosh pits please, but be prepared to get funky like a monkey. See you then!

Those students who will be traveling to Nicaragua next week for spring break must attend a short and final organizational meeting this Thursday at 3:10 in Mr. Budniak’s room, F136. Important travel info to be distributed. Please make it for the meeting.

Thursday is the deadline for the Jim Adams scholarship. You must return the signed form to Coach Owens and follow the contest guidelines by 3:05 this Thursday to be eligible for the contest. See Coach Owens in room D224 if you have any questions. Thanks, and Happy Writing!

House News

The Student Phonathon continues for just one more week. Tonight is Flannan House and Thursday is Becket House. There are signup sheets for all the Houses in your Advising classroom. If you can’t make your House’s assigned night, come on a different night and your House will still get credit. This is a marquee event, so your participation is important. The Phonathon takes place is Alumni Hall from 5:30 until 8:30 and pizza, snacks and soft drinks are provided. You can also earn three service hours for participating; in addition to receiving a free t-shirt and gift certificates. If your House has at least 20 volunteers, they will earn a dress down day, and the House with the most volunteers earns a pizza party during Advising. So sign up today!

A reminder from Mr. Manning that this evening’s varsity lacrosse match versus St. X is a House marquee event. The match begins at 7:30 and admission to the game is $5. See Mr. Manning to sign in. As an added bonus, a $25 gift card of your choice will be raffled off at halftime. Come out and support your LAX Rocks and take a chance on a prize.

Freshmen of Seton House: Your retreat is tomorrow during first and second blocks. Please report directly to the chapel by 8:00. You will go to lunch and 3rd block as you normally do. Freshmen of Toussaint House: Your retreat is tomorrow during third and fourth blocks. You will go to your first two periods and first lunch and then report directly to the chapel.  Remember, you have a free dress day.

The Easter season gives us an opportunity to reflect on our own lives and to make a positive impact on others’ lives. Now through April 13, Flannan House is holding a toy drive for Jarrett’s Joy Cart. A cancer patient named Jarrett started the cart to bring some joy to kids while they are in the hospital going through treatments. Last year our total was roughly 300 toys. This year we would like to bring even more joy to those young cancer patients. Donation bins will be in main areas of the school: the Rotunda, Student Affairs Office, on the second floor of Old Trinity Hall and in Mr. Wilson’s room F237. Thank you in advance for buying a matchbox car, a coloring book, a small stuffed animal, a Barbie doll, a comedy DVD, or even an iTunes gift card to give to Jarrett’s Joy Cart. Flannan House members plan to distribute the toys after Spring Break.
