Academic News

A reminder that if you need to get your device onto Trinity’s wireless network, you must first register your device in PowerSchool. There are detailed instructions available on the device registration page in PowerSchool. Once you’ve registered your device, you may get your voucher from your advisor.

Seniors – are you working on your Common Application for college? Working on some entrance essays? Or, are you just trying to get your GPA up? Stop by Mr. Greenwell’s room, S355, after school for the writing workshop for all the help you need.

House News

Here’s another Dare to Care update. In the original totaling, we did not include checks written directly to Dare to Care in the collection total. These, when added, make a new total that is a new record high. The total Dare to Care collection should read $14,826.59. Incredible job, Trinity! Way to knock out hunger.

The final House marquee of the second quarter is scheduled for this Friday night. The varsity basketball home opener versus Pulaski County will be the last opportunity this quarter to earn a point for your House. The varsity game begins at 7:30. Come out early and cheer on the JV Rocks as well. This game has also been declared a student ID game. All Trinity students will be admitted free with their ID. So there’s really no excuse for you not to be there.

Activity News

Today is Wednesday and that means recycling! Members of the Environmental Club are asked to come to room F140 after school today for recycling. We are always looking for new members, so why not give it a try? That’s after school today in Mr. Dubay’s room, F140, for recycling. Hope to see you there.

The Guitar Club will meet today in the music room, C271. See you then!

Outdoor Club members are reminded that today is the last day to sign up for our spelunking trip on Dec. 10 to Marengo Cave. Please see Coach Waggoner today if you are planning on going and have not registered as of yet.

Attention all fun lovers. Uno Club will meet today in F346. If you are a fun hater, you should skip this meeting. All others looking for wild fun are welcome.

Attention all architecture, construction, and engineering Rocks. The fourth ACE mentoring class will be held in Mr. CM’s room, F134, this afternoon from 3 to 5 p.m.

Auditions for the Trinity Department of Theatre Arts presentation of The King and I will take place today through Friday from 3 – 5 p.m. in the Trinity Auditorium. Come by T316 or email Mrs. Durbin for a time slot.

Photo Club will meet in Mr. Serochi’s room, C176, after school this Thursday for its yearbook pictures.

The Inner Peace Club will have a meeting this Thursday during Advising in the chapel. Anyone interested is invited to join. Slips for returning to Advising will be provided. All you need to bring are some good vibes. If you have any questions, see Mr. Schum in F245.

Filming has just begun on Blade Runner 2049, the sequel to 1982’s landmark original Blade Runner starring Harrison Ford. The original is known for its groundbreaking visuals and merging of cyber-punk with a 1940’s film noir. On Thursday, Film Club will screen the original theatrical cut and then look at changes that were made by director Ridley Scott a decade later with his Director’s Cut. The changes, while small, lead to a new interpretation of the film. Members of the Science Fiction class are reminded that they can attend for extra credit. Be there from 3 to 5:30 in Mr. Seng’s room this Thursday.

Attention all food lovers and Culinary Club members: The next cooking meeting will take place on Thursday, Dec 1. Make plans to stay and cook another great meal on Thursday! See you in the Kitchen!

The Tim’s Flying Club will meet and fly in Mr. CM’s room, F134, after school this Thursday from 3 to 4 p.m.

Those students interested in joining the Ski and Snowboard Club are reminded that all forms and payments are due by this Friday. If you are a returning member, meaning you paid to ride the bus last year, you only need a $20 check. All new members are required to pay the full $60 to ride the bus.

Tis’ the season to spread some Christmas cheer and earn your service hours! The Green Cross Service Club is looking for volunteers to help with the Commission for Children with Special Health Care Needs annual Christmas party set up on Tuesday, December 6 from 3:30-5:30 p.m. Please see Mrs. McGuire in S151 for more information and sign-ups.

The Book Club will meet on Thursday, Dec. 8, after school in the library. For more information, see Mr. Schum in F245.

Are you looking for a way to start the Christmas holidays off the right way? Mr. Budniak is looking for Green Cross Club volunteers to help him set up the Christmas Store at Wayside Christian Mission after our last exam on Friday, December 16. We will leave school by 12:30 to the Mission and work for as long as it takes to set up the store. Plan on being back at about 5:30. Transportation to and from Trinity will be provided. Please see Mr. Budniak in F136 for details and a permission form.

Sports News

Attention all freshmen playing Intramural Basketball! The freshmen intramural basketball season will begin today after school in Shamrock Hall. Becket will play Aquinas at 3:10 and Dante will take on Seton at 4:10. Team t-shirts will be given out before the game. On Friday, Gonzaga will take on Romero at 2:30 and Merton plays Patrick at 3:30. All teams will play on both Saturday and Sunday of this weekend. Pick up a schedule from Mr. Bryant or Mr. Chancellor or check it out on the Trinity website.

Rosters for the sophomore and junior/senior open division league for the 2017 Intramural Basketball season are available now. Students not involved in basketball, swimming, or wrestling are eligible to play. See Mr. Bryant or Mr. Chancellor if you want an official team roster.
