What is the Trinity Annual Fund?
The Trinity Annual Fund subsidizes all tuition assistance programs. It is the Trinity High School Foundation’s cornerstone fund-raising tool designed to assist families with making the best available educational experience more accessible. All unrestricted gifts, memorial/honorary gifts and scholarships restricted to financial aid are part of the Trinity Annual Fund.
Where does my contribution to the Trinity Annual Fund go?
100% of all gifts to the Trinity Annual Fund go to Financial Aid. Trinity Annual Fund dollars are not used for capital projects. The Trinity High School Foundation conducts separate fund-raising campaigns for capital projects.
How much financial assistance did Trinity families receive in 2018–19?
Approximately $3.3 million in financial aid was distributed to families in 2018–19 and we were able to meet up to 55% of the demonstrated need. Tuition is already discounted $2,000 per student thanks to funds raised through our endowment.
How many families received financial assistance?
Approximately 40% of families receive some form of financial assistance.
What is the goal?
Alumni participation drives the success of Trinity Annual Fund. A volunteer committee is made up of Trinity alumni, parents, faculty and friends who work year-round to inform and educate the Trinity community about our campaign and solicit contributions of time, talent and treasure. Our challenge to alumni classes is to have at least 12% or higher participation from each class.
We must raise $750,000 annually within three years. By increasing participation from alumni, parents, faculty/staff and friends, we help ensure a Trinity education is accessible for future generations of young men.
Why ask for a multi-year commitment?
Our volunteers are encouraged to solicit multi-year gifts. The benefit of a multi-year gift is to enable Trinity to count on support for the Trinity Annual Fund over multiple years so our volunteers can concentrate on re-connecting with alumni who may not be aware of the Trinity Annual Fund and our mission. It also gives you a break from being solicited during the duration of the multi-year pledge.
I’ve already contributed to a class scholarship, so why should I also give to the Trinity Annual Fund?
Scholarship gifts are another vital tool which help provide access to a Trinity education. Scholarship gifts are held in perpetuity within our endowment and are separate from the Trinity Annual Fund. Funds from the endowment are disbursed based on a 5% rolling average over three years. These funds benefit students, but at a smaller percentage. Dollars raised through the Trinity Annual Fund have to be replenished each year (money-in and money-out).
Many alumni have made the decision to split their annual giving to support both scholarships and the Trinity Annual Fund. Either way, our students win!
Trinity’s campus looks great. You don’t need my help.
Not true. Many caring and generous donors have contributed to separate capital project fund-raisers over the years and Trinity is blessed to have a beautiful campus. The Trinity Annual Fund is used exclusively for tuition assistance. Support of the Annual Fund is critical to ensure we can make Trinity an accessible reality for many families.
I have questions about making a gift to Trinity. Who can help me?
