Be Great Postcard

As we enter the final days of Lent, and take time to observe Good Friday and celebrate Easter, we wanted to share important reminders about upcoming events after spring break.

Please see below:

Monday, April 8:

  • A total solar eclipse will occur and be visible in parts of Kentucky and southern Indiana. In Louisville, we will see a very deep partial eclipse. To allow students the opportunity to view, online learning will occur on Monday, April 8. Green Day classes will be available via RocksSpace by 10 a.m. and teachers available for assistance via email.

Tuesday, April 9:

  • Tuesday, April 9 is Spring Testing Day for underclassmen. Below are important details by grade level. Watch for more details are reminders as we get closer:

Freshmen:

  • Attendance is expected of all freshmen.

  • Freshmen are taking a full-length Practice ACT test. This test will serve to give information about how they might score when taking an official ACT in the future.

  • Testing for freshmen begins at 8 a.m. and should end by 11:30 a.m.

  • The Trinity bus will run its standard morning route. It will depart from Trinity at 12:30 p.m.

  • Breakfast will be served, but there will be no lunch on testing day.

  • Students should dress in regular school attire and wear their ID for testing.

  • There will be no extended time given to freshmen on Spring Testing Day.

Juniors:

  • Attendance is expected of all juniors.

  • Juniors will be taking the ACT. This is not a practice test, but rather an official test that is reportable to colleges and scholarships.

  • Testing for juniors begins at 8 a.m. and should end by 12 p.m. If a student arrives late to his testing room, he will not be allowed to take the test. No refund will be offered.

  • The Trinity bus will run its standard morning route. It will depart from Trinity at 12:30 p.m.

  • Breakfast will be served, but there will be no lunch on testing day.

  • Students should dress in regular school attire.

  • Juniors are required to have an ID to enter the testing room. Arriving without ID might affect your ability to test.

  • This ID could be:

    • School-issued photo ID

    • Government-issued photo ID (permit, driver’s license, passport)

  • Students need to bring:

    • ACT approved calculators (see the ACT website for more information)

    • Several number 2 pencils

  • If you are testing with accommodations/extended time, please look for an email from Mr. Matt Manning regarding your room assignment.

  • The use of electronics such as phones, computers, and smart watches is strictly prohibited during the entirety of the test, including breaks. It is recommended that smart watches be left at home or in a car or locker. Phones should be placed in the phone caddies upon entering the testing room.
