Rock Reflections

Join us for our weekly “Rock Reflections,” a series celebrating Trinity alumni. From all 50 states to countries worldwide, our graduates are making an impact, and we'll share their stories on Trinity's website and social media.

This week’s profile is about Mitch Schiller ’14.

Mitch Schiller

Mitch Schiller got involved with the Alumni Association several years ago as an alumni Class Agent. Since then, he has gone All-In on Trinty and has no plans of stopping.

“I really appreciate the time I had at Trinity,” Mitch said. “I’m happy to support Trinity. It needs the support of the Alumni Association and Class Agents. My Trinity experience would not have been possible without the prior generations who came before me.”

Mitch came to Trinity from North Oldham Middle School. He quickly immersed himself in life at Trinity as a student-athlete. He served as a Gonzaga House captain and played lacrosse and ice hockey. He also was a member of the Pep Club and a Senior Retreat leader. Additionally, Mitch was a Shadow student host for prospective students.

Mitch’s Trinity teachers left a last impact on him.

“The teachers are amazingly dedicated,” Mitch said. “They want all students to succeed and work to help make that happen.”

Some of Mitch’s favorite teachers were Jeff Becker ’90, Carol Comstock, Andrew Coverdale H’07, Scott Holzknecht ’97, James Torra H’12 and Tom Zehnder ’63.

After graduating from Trinity in 2014, Mitch attended the University of Kentucky. He earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing in 2018 and returned to Louisville. He is currently a realtor with Lenihan Sotheby’s International Realty, focusing on residential real estate.

Being a Trinity alumnus has been a benefit to Mitch and Trinity.

“Being a Trinity grad is a connection point for people who have lived in Louisville or who are moving to town from out of state and are interested in educational opportunities for their son,” Mitch said. “It’s a great opportunity to talk with a family about Trinity and tell them about the amazing academics, activities and athletic programs. There’s a place for everyone at Trinity.”

Mitch is an active member of the Alumni Association. He currently serves on the Alumni Board of Directors. In this capacity he is a member of the Alumni Board’s Strategic Planning Committee, which recently completed its triennial strategic plan for the Alumni Association. Mitch also has served on his class reunion committees and has been a volunteer for Open House, the Alumni-Family Easter Egg Hunt and the CelebraTion dinner-auction.

“I encourage alumni to get involved with the Alumni Association,” Mitch said. “I’ve loved it. This place, Trinity, is so special. It’s a bond that starts freshman year and lasts a lifetime.”

Additionally, Mitch is a member of the Young Alumni Shamrock Society (YASS) giving society. The YASS is for alumni who graduated in the last 15 years. Full members make an annual contribution of $250 or more to the Trinity Annual Fund for financial aid. The YASS hosts several alumni events each year.

“I give to the Annual Fund for future generations of students and alumni,” Mitch said. “I want current and future students to have as great or better Trinity experience than I did.”

Mitch and his wife, Caroline (Sacred Heart, 2010), have been married two years. They have a son, Shepherd, 5 months.
