Trinity High School Announces 2026 Varsity Football Schedule
Sean Duggins ’04 – Director of Athletics
Trinity High School, the reigning KHSAA Class 6A football state champion and 30-time state title holder, has announced its 2026 varsity football schedule. Freshman and JV schedules will be released at a later date.

The 2026 schedule includes two marquee interstate road trips and one of the nation’s premier rivalry games. Collectively, the schedule once again reflects Trinity’s commitment to competing at the highest level, featuring a mix of regional powers, historic programs and challenging matchups across Kentucky, Ohio, Missouri and Tennessee.
The Rocks open the preseason with a home scrimmage against Springfield (OH), a program known for competing in one of Ohio’s toughest conferences. Trinity then travels to Anderson (OH), a Cincinnati-area contender coming off recent deep postseason success. Anderson is the 2025 Division II Ohio state runner-up.
A nationally intriguing road matchup follows when Trinity travels to St. Louis to face Christian Brothers College (MO), a storied Catholic program with a championship pedigree and a strong reputation of success.
Returning home, Trinity hosts Moeller (OH), one of Ohio’s perennial football powers, before welcoming The Baylor School (TN). Baylor brings a nationally respected athletic tradition and one of Tennessee’s most successful overall sports programs.
The Rocks then enter a stretch of high-profile local competition beginning with Louisville Male High School. The annual Trinity–Saint Xavier rivalry returns September 25. Widely recognized as one of the premier high school football rivalries in the nation, the contest remains a centerpiece of the Kentucky football calendar. Trinity will be the visiting team, although the game site is currently TBD.
Early October brings another interstate challenge as Cincinnati St. Xavier (OH) visits Marshall Stadium. The Bombers boast a proud Ohio football tradition and consistently compete at a high level.
District play follows with matchups against Ballard (at home), Eastern (away), and Oldham County (away).
The regular season concludes with an open week on October 30, allowing Trinity to prepare for the KHSAA playoffs.
Director of Athletics Sean Duggins stated, “This schedule reflects exactly what we want Trinity football to be — challenged, prepared, and competing against outstanding programs. Our student-athletes embrace that responsibility, and our community can look forward to another exciting fall.”
Head Coach Jay Cobb added, “Our players understand that growth comes from playing great competition. Every week presents a new test that prepares us for postseason football. We’re eager to get to work.”
