Help Desk Specialist

Trinity High School · Louisville, KY · Full-time, year-round

Trinity is a Catholic, college-preparatory high school forming men of faith and men of character. Our Information Technology department keeps the school’s technology running for every student, teacher, and staff member on campus, and we’re seeking someone to act as the first point of contact when something stops working or when someone has a technology need.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

As the Help Desk Specialist at Trinity, you’ll be the person students, faculty, and staff turn to first, whether it’s resetting a password or getting a projector working before first block. Other times, you might be imaging a cart of laptops or setting up A/V equipment for a school event. You’ll work alongside the Associate Director and Director of Information Technology, and you’ll be comfortable knowing when to handle something yourself and when to escalate it.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Responding to help desk requests, phone calls, and emails, and tracking each one through to resolution

  • Resolving account issues, including password resets, MFA, and lockouts

  • Supporting classroom technology, including projectors, displays, docks, audio, and more

  • Maintaining computer labs, laptops, and desktops, and keeping scheduled maintenance on track

  • Keeping network printers working and connected, and coordinating repairs with our vendor

  • Setting up, imaging, and deploying devices, including the summer refresh, and helping manage inventory and equipment retirement

  • Writing how-to guides for staff and the IT department, and leading training when needed

  • Setting up A/V and IT equipment for school events

  • Teaching no more than one class per day

What we’re looking for

  • You like solving problems and can explain a fix in plain English to non-technical users

  • You’re comfortable troubleshooting computers, printers, and classroom A/V, and you keep learning as technology changes

  • You’re organized and follow through until the job is done

  • You handle student, staff, and other confidential school information with discretion

  • You’re interested in working with and teaching high school students, in the classroom and at the help desk

  • You’re available year-round, including occasional after-hours events

  • A degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field, or a technical certification, is a plus but not required
