Fball Team Picture

Congratulations to the Football Rocks for their 38 – 14 victory over St. X.  The Rocks advance to the next round of the playoffs and will host a home game Nov. 17 at Marshall Stadium.  Watch the website and Athletics Twitter for more information.  

After last night's victory, Trinity Alumnus Robert Sampson '05, provided some historical game notes regarding the storied rivalry between Trinity and St X.  We hope you enjoy:

  • Trinity won its 50th game in the history of the series and leads  overall 50-40-2 in 92 games.
  • Only the third time in series history either team has scored 35 points or more in two matchups in the same season, the other occurrences coming in 2010 and 2011.
  • Ninth straight win in postseason for Trinity over St. Xavier, all coming since start of 2010 season.
  • The last five postseason wins for Trinity have all been decided by double digits and by an average of 21.8 points.
  • Since losing in 1997 state finals to St. Xavier, Trinity is 13-1 against the Tigers in their last 14 postseason meetings.
  • Trinity has held St. Xavier to 14 points or less in six of the last seven meetings.
