Trinity's underclassmen Debate Rocks ended their season on a high note Saturday, April 26 at the Wyatt Debate League Championship. In order to compete, competitors must have advanced to semis or finals during the season or have received an at-large bid. All three freshmen Public Forum teams competed.
Receiving Speaker Awards in Public Forum Debate were:
Owen Tafel: Top-10
Chase Wissing :Top-10
Charlie Ellingsworth: Top-4
Charlie and Chase were named the Public Forum CHAMPIONS boasting an impressive 5-1 record for the day.
The team earned 3rd in overall sweepstakes.
Freshman Oscar Cardoza was also awarded a scholarship for summer debate camp.
Best of luck to upperclassmen Liam Wahl, Max Corbett, Ian Beierle, and Hayden Deitz who will compete at the end of May at the National Catholic Forensic League Grand National Tournament in Chicago.
Hayden and Ian will also compete in June at the National Speech and Debate Association National Tournament in Des Moines.
