Join us for our weekly “Rock Reflections,” a series celebrating Trinity alumni. From 48 states to countries worldwide, our graduates are making an impact, and we'll share their stories on Trinity's website and social media.
This week's profile is about Thomas Levett '05

“There’s nothing better than giving back.”
That’s what Thomas Levett said when asked why he supports Trinity since graduating in 2005. He regularly attends Alumni Business Circle events and Alumni Association community service projects. He’s also spoken with student groups.
Thomas came to Trinity from Stuart Middle School. His mother grew up Catholic and convinced him to have a shadow visit at Trinity.
“I loved it so much, and I knew I wanted to go there,” Thomas said. “It was a great experience. The facilities, the teachers, the students – it was the atmosphere.”
Thomas participated in Trinity’s after-school work-study program for two years. He also worked evenings and weekends at Del Frisco’s Steakhouse nearby in St. Matthews.
“Trinity gave me good structure, a foundation and discipline,” Thomas said. “We learned discipline fast. But it was also being with friends all day and very relaxed. Trinity helped me become a well-rounded person.”
One of Thomas’ most cherished Trinity memories is of his teachers. Some of his favorites were Jeff Becker ’90, Eddie Rudolph H’95, Bob Beatty H’03 and Ken Ellenbrand H’07.
“They showed they cared about you,” he said. “Not just the teachers – the whole staff. I learned communication skills from them and how to adapt to life situations.”
After graduating from Trinity, Thomas worked at United Parcel Service for six years. He currently works in the body shop at Ford Motor Company’s Louisville Assembly Plant on Fern Valley Road where he’s been for 11 years.
His involvement with the Alumni Association began when he responded to an email invitation to an Alumni Business Circle luncheon. He’s continued to attend them as well as community service projects at Supplies Overseas and Dare to Care. He’s also a Class Agent and serves on the Alumni Board’s Engagement Committee.
“I enjoy being around brothers and good people,” Thomas said. “There’s reminiscing but also networking and making connections. That’s great for my future. It’s great for any alum’s future.”
Thomas also supports today’s Trinity students.
“There’s nothing better than giving back,” he said. “I was the beneficiary of a scholarship. Otherwise, I couldn’t have gone to Trinity. Looking back, I can see the huge difference it made in my life. I’ve always loved the Trinity Family, and I want future students to have the same experience as me.”
“Lots of things at Trinity are caught, not taught,” Thomas said. “You catch things along the way. You learn a way of life from the people there. Even if you didn’t learn a thing in class, you became a better person. I’m thankful for my journey there and now as an alum. I encourage all alumni to get involved. It’s easy to do.”
Thomas and his wife, Devon, have been married for two months. They celebrated their wedding and honeymoon in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. They are both ministers at their respective churches. Thomas is a member of Family of Faith Church where he teaches Bible study on Sunday and sometimes preaches.
