Re: Fall Break, First Quarter Reflections & Campus Updates

It’s hard to believe that the first quarter of the 2026–27 school year has already passed. Classes began on August 6, and it has been a blur ever since.

Led by our seniors in the Class of 2027, the energy on campus is contagious. Already this year, we’ve celebrated meaningful moments such as Opening Mass, Grandparents Mass, and the Shamrock Awards, each reflecting the spirit of our school community.

In addition, retreats are underway, service projects have begun, and our classes, clubs, activities, and athletic programs are all thriving. Led by our senior Pep Club captains, the annual Pride Week events further strengthened our sense of brotherhood and deepened school spirit across campus.

As I look around our campus, I am reminded of just how blessed we are. We are blessed by our students, our faculty and staff, our culture, our families, and the faith that brings us together.

There is a lot happening on our campus, and we are grateful to experience it together as one Trinity community!

As we begin fall break, please encourage your son to take advantage of this well-deserved opportunity to relax and recharge, both mentally and physically. While doing so, please remind him to make good decisions and keep our Core Values at the forefront, continuing to live as a Man of Faith and a Man of Character.

Thank you for making the first quarter a tremendous success. We are grateful for your partnership, your support, and the many ways you contribute to the life of our school.

May God bless you with a wonderful fall break, and may it be a time of rest, renewal, and meaningful time spent with family.

As part of the ongoing Scinta STEM Center construction, improvements on the north end of Sherrin Avenue are planned throughout Fall Break.

Because of our strong partnership with the City of St. Matthews, the city has agreed to grant Trinity possession of the road. This will allow us to add additional layers of protection for the students, faculty, and staff who use this access way every school day.

We plan to install speed humps along Sherrin Avenue to help control traffic. We have also added additional crosswalk signage and reduced the speed limit to 15 mph. Each of these measures represents another step toward enhancing the safety of our Trinity community.

Additionally, at the north-end intersection of Sherrin Avenue and Westport Road, we will add dedicated right- and left-turn lanes for vehicles departing campus.

This work will require portions of Sherrin Avenue to close at various times during Fall Break. Throughout construction, campus access will remain available via Shelbyville Road during the day and from both ends of Sherrin Avenue in the evenings.

See below for additional details:

  • Thursday, Oct. 8 – the north end of Sherrin Avenue will be closed during the day and re-open around 5 p.m.

  • Friday, Oct. 9 – the north end of Sherrin Avenue will be closed during the day and re-open around 6 p.m. Prep work for the speed hump installation will begin.

  • Saturday, Oct. 10 –Sherrin Avenue will be closed for speed hump installation from outside the Rotunda to Westport Road. Visitors can still access campus via the Rotunda parking lots from Shelbyville Road.

  • Sunday, Oct. 11 – Sherrin Avenue will be closed for speed hump installation from outside the Rotunda to Westport Road. Visitors can still access campus via the Rotunda parking lots from Shelbyville Road.

  • Monday, Oct. 12 – the north end of Sherrin Avenue will be closed during the day and re-open around 4:30 p.m.

  • Tuesday, Oct. 13 – the north end of Sherrin Avenue will be closed during the day and re-open around 5 p.m.

As construction work progresses, we will share additional reminders and updates as needed. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work through these transformational improvements to our campus.

We hope you are as excited about the opportunities ahead as we are.

Thank you for being part of the Trinity community.

Go Rocks!

Trinity Forever!
