It was another GREAT Week at Trinity! We celebrated Ash Wednesday, half our Houses got together for House Meetings, we welcomed several special visitors on campus, and we continued to take advantage of the unique, hands-on learning opportunities provided by the Block Schedule. Have a GREAT Winter Break, Trinity!

On Feb. 14, the Trinity community celebrates Ash Wednesday beginning the 40 days of Lent leading up to Easter. On this special day of reflection, Catholics wear a marking of the cross in ash created from palms used in the previous year’s Palm Sunday celebration on their foreheads. The ashes symbolize our mortality – “Remember you are dust, and to dust you shall return.” They also serve as a symbol of penance during Lent made sacramental by the blessing of the Church.

The Stephen T. Mather Memorial Tennis Center hosted the opening day of tryouts for the 2024 Shamrock Tennis Team. This new, best-in-class campus venue was made possible by generous Trinity alumni and families with support from the Trinity High School Foundation. Good luck to our Tennis Rocks this season!

Today is National Freedom Day, commemorating the signing by Abraham Lincoln of a resolution that became the 13th amendment, which abolished slavery, to the U.S. Constitution.

As we start Catholic Schools Week, today’s theme is Celebrating Our Community. Trinity is committed to the values of compassion and personal responsibility. We strive to guide students toward a path of compassion, responsibility, and morality – this is why we place such an emphasis on service projects. As our students take part in these activities, they demonstrate the values of the Catholic faith and learn to make the world a better place.
