Why is there a house on Trinity’s campus?
Known today as Flaget Hall, the oldest building on campus was built in 1928 as part of Holy Trinity Church and School. The parish was founded on the site in 1882.
Prior to 1953, when Holy Trinity operated on Trinity’s current site, the house was the priests’ rectory and convent for the nuns who taught at the school. When Trinity High School opened and for decades thereafter, many of the priests who taught at Trinity lived in the house. Trinity Chaplain Rev. David Zettel ’58 still resides there.

The Trinity parents, alumni and friends who braved the frigid weather at Marshall Stadium on Thanksgiving morning warmed up with great company. They were there to watch the Football Rocks go through their walk-through for their game versus St. Xavier on November 28. The winner will advance to the Class 6-A state championship game.

As we near Thanksgiving, the Trinity community is thankful for our dedicated, loyal and generous alumni and families. Thank you for supporting our mission to form men of faith and men of character.
Mass is celebrated daily in our chapel by Rev. David Zettel ’58. An Alumni Mass is held on the third Wednesday of each month. Alumni meet in the rotunda from 7-7:15 a.m. and then walk to the chapel. The next Alumni Mass is scheduled for Wednesday, December 17.

At Trinity, we prepare our students to succeed by using their God-given talents to the fullest throughout their lives. A special thanks to Fr. Martin Linebach and Mr. Rodd Popson, from the Archdiocese of Louisville, who recently visited campus to raise awareness for spiritual vocations while supporting the young men who are studying to become priests.
Despite the rain and clouds, it was a perfect day for the monthly Alumni Business Circle luncheon! Thanks to Progress Park Airstream Resort & Event Venue, which is owned and operated by Nick McDowell ’96 and Mike Pifer ’97.
Attendees had the opportunity to share their 60-second elevator speech about their business and career.
The Alumni Business Circle luncheons attract alumni of all ages and careers. They are held on the third Thursday of each month at rotating locations. The next one will be held on Thursday, January 15, 2026.

Thanks to Trinity alumnus John Hernandez ’20 for speaking with the Pre-Med Society after school on Monday, November 3, 2025. John is currently a student at the University of Louisville School of Medicine.
John shared his medical journey with Trinity students. Starting with Mr. Budniak’s AP biology class to earning his bachelor’s degree and now studying medicine. John discussed time management, the value of taking AP courses in high school, volunteering in the medical field, study habits in medical school and having the intense desire to be a doctor.
The Pre-Med Society is moderated by Trinity teacher Mike Budniak H’11.

This week, the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops joined with many others in raising the alarm about imminent interruptions to food programs, particularly the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).
The USCCB is encouraging Catholics to contact our members of Congress and urge them to act quickly to ensure this funding is quickly restored.

The Trinity Alumni Moms hosted their annual Care Package Event. Everyone enjoyed renewing old friendships, forming new ones, and sharing ways to support each other and their sons. A special thank you to Peggy Karman H’21 (mother of Alex ’11, Noah ’13, and Ian ’18) for hosting the event.
In addition to creating care packages for their sons away from home, many participants also prepared boxes for Trinity alumni currently serving in the military. Those packages will be mailed out this week.
“It makes me excited to imagine an alum receiving an unexpected package from their alma mater, thanking them for their service and letting them know how proud we are of them. I wish I could see their faces,” said Senior Development Officer and Alumni Moms Coordinator Michelle Walters H’17.
“I love that these women still want to stay connected to Trinity even after their sons have graduated,” Walters continued. “It speaks volumes about the special place they found at Trinity.”
