Since 1991, every Trinity graduating class has had an incremental five-year reunion. Few schools can say that.

Congratulations, Daylen! Trinity Forever!
In 1956, the Ancient Order of Hibernians, an Irish-Catholic fraternal organization, created the Shillelagh as a trophy awarded to the winner of the Trinity-St. Xavier football game. They could not have known how big the game would become.
The Shillelagh is a cutting from a blackthorn bush in Ireland. A chain hanging from it contains silver medallions for a Trinity win and gold medallions for a St. X win. The year and score are engraved on the medallions. Trinity leads the overall series 50-41-2. The victorious school keeps the Shillelagh for the following year.
The Hibernians displayed the Shillelagh during lunch periods at Trinity on September 24.
The Shamrocks and Tigers will meet tonight at the University of Louisville’s L&N Federal Credit Union Stadium. Parking opens at 5 p.m., gates open at 6:30 p.m., with kickoff at 8 p.m.

First Trinity-St. X football game
As we celebrate Pride Week at Trinity, let’s look back at what started it all.
In September 1953, shortly after the school was founded, Trinity and St. Xavier High School’s freshman football teams met on the gridiron for the first time.
Trinity was originally known as Holy Trinity High School. We inherited the abandoned Holy Trinity Catholic Church and School building when they move to their current location on Cherrywood Road in St. Matthews. The “Holy” was dropped from the name several years after the school opened due to the confusion with Holy Trinity Catholic Church and School.
It was a hard-fought battle, but the Rocks prevailed by a score of 7-6. Dave Weber, Class of 1957, scored our first touchdown. The varsity Rocks defeated the Tigers for the first time in 1959.

Every dollar raised during the Alumni Phonathon goes to the Trinity Annual Fund for financial aid. Over 43% of students receive financial aid, so it’s crucial to many of our families.
